While your boat likely comes with plenty of great features that make it comfortable, safe, and fun to use, it may not have the most exciting interior. Fortunately, decorating your boat isn’t too difficult to do. Here are our tips on how to easily decorate your boat’s interior to customize it and make it a more personal space.

Use Lightweight Decor

A boat is not the place for fragile or heavy decorations. Avoid using glass or paper, as glass can break and paper can get soggy in the high humidity of the cabin. Certain fabrics and textiles, lightweight woods, and plastic are good materials for the inside of a boat.

Add Mood Lighting

You can instantly make your cabin more fun with some fun lighting. Strings of LED lights pinned up around the ceiling can create a cute and cozy atmosphere. Lightweight plastic LED lamps or candles create ambiance without adding any danger. Just make sure any lighting you add doesn’t negatively impact navigation.

Bring Some Coziness In

The furniture in your boat’s cabin is going to be easy to clean and relatively comfortable, but it won’t necessarily be warm and inviting. You can add some colorful throw pillows made in a sturdy fabric (outdoor patio pillows could work for this) and a few fleece or wool blankets to make your cabin warm and inviting.
